[Ring ring Alex, your doctor is calling but not because of business. Instead, the camera shows a close up of a Furbird with its mouth frozen shut (you'll thank him later).]
I had gotten one of these during the games they had at the market recently. Would you be interested in having it?
[Don't mind it shaking a little: it's trying to repeat words but can't speak.]
It likes to repeat everything it hears around its vicinity. For the moment, it's best for it to keep quiet.
[Why is he calm when he says this? Probably because he saw it in action earlier. Hearing an entire conversation repeated was weird. And it's still shaking a bit.]
There are actual crane games here with really cute plushies I could show you. Wouldn't take more than an hour, and none of them talk. ( She pauses. ) Probably.
( Yeah, she's fully amused now. )
I think the ice is telling me just how good at staying quiet that little guy is. It's really a toy, right? Not a magic curse or a faerie or something else?
As to my knowledge, it appears to be just a toy. If there were anything else to it, I think Jasmine would be feeling the effects.
[And to prove his point, he takes his phone and angles it to show his little Sprigatito rolling around with another Furbird on the floor except this one appears to have been through quite a bit. And by "been through", some of the fur has gone out, its missing an ear, and one eye has rolled back into its head. At least she's happy with the gift.]
( Alex observes a moment before she laughs, more at how the Sprigatito is having a time of its life with the other Furbird. Clearly there's a winner in that interaction, and it isn't the Furbird. )
Doesn't rule out that it still could be cursed. But sure. Friends share miseries, right? I'll take the... uh... almost... cute if you squint terror off your hands. But then you're on call to ice muzzle it if it goes off the tracks. You better know that!
[It sounds like an exaggeration but when he taps the furbird's mouth to melt the ice, that's when the realization that he was telling the truth hit. When he said it repeated everything around the area, he meant it because there was the odd comment of carrots and food stalls, some gleeful meowing (definitely from Jasmine) followed by what sounds an OTTO would make if it was played with too hard, and finally the entire conversation between him and Alex.

[He won't lie because they do have some kind of cuteness...for a weird cryptid thing.]

I'll always be on call if that happens. You won't need to worry.
[But if it somehow learns to pick up a knife, he can't explain how that happened.]

I wasn't until now. ( Alex laughs, shaking her head. ) What was it repeating so endlessly that annoyed you this much anyway?

Once it finishes, the ice muzzle goes back on.]
